A Concert of Orthodox Sacred Music by American Composers

The Choir

The Chamber Choir of St. Tikhon’s Monastery is a professional vocal ensemble, whose members include award-winning vocalists from throughout the United States.

The Music

Original compositions, arrangements, and transcriptions of sacred music by American Orthodox composers Benedict Sheehan, Richard Toensing, Nazo Zakkak, and Kurt Sander.

The Buzz

Two works will receive world premiere performances, including Canon of St. Andrew by Nazo Zakkak and Opening Psalm by Benedict Sheehan.

The Soloists

Soloists include Portland-based baritone John Michael Boyer, known for his work with Cappella Romana, and soprano Laura Soto-Bayomi of the Chautauqua Opera Festival and 2015 finalist at the Metropolitan Opera Auditions.

The Occasion

The concert is part of a series of events that will take place during the 112th annual St. Tikhon’s Memorial Day Pilgrimage. Corporate sponsors of the concert include Renovation Angel and the Patriarch Tikhon Russian American Music Institute.

The Cause

The concert is jointly organized by St. Tikhon's Monastery and Seminary. All proceeds will benefit St. Tikhon's Seminary. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Please contact us to reserve your tickets. More information will be avilable here soon.
